Since the year 2000 activities and events featuring music from the baroque and classical periods have been organised in Bruneck/Brunico, including master classes for young musicians, orchestral workshops, a small but select concert series “Im Zeichen Bach’s“ and concerts with the Ensemble Cordia.
All these events have one common denominator – the Brunico based cellist Stefano Veggetti and his passion for music performed on period instruments.
In the early years, these activities were supported by the working group “Das Fenster” (the window). In 2004 it became necessary and reasonable to found an association of its own in order to carry out the organisation and financing of the projects.
The association was founded on the 24th April 2004 as a voluntary culture association in San Lorenzo, with the village paediatrician, Werner Oberhollenzer as president, the other members being Thekla Toniatti, Heinz Zelger, Franziska Romaner, Stefano Veggetti and Georg Mair.
Georg Mair then replaced Werner Oberhollenzer in his function as president and in 2011 the association’s seat moved to Bruneck/Brunico. It obtained office space in the Seeböckhaus, where Emanuela Marcati has been responsible for organisation and financing since 2013.
In 2014, the association’s statutes were revised, the association receiving recognition as a legal entity under private law and being entered into the provincial register.
Christian Tschurtschenthaler has been president of the association since 2014, assisted by the committee composed of Franziska Romaner, Georg Mair, Irmgard Kloiber, Ilse Rosenkranz and Margarethe Mair.
The artistic director for all of the association’s activities is Stefano Veggetti.
